The novel Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser threw me off originally in the beginning. I knew the book was going to be about MC Donald's and how it got its start and describe what it is doing to American people. Yet it started jumping around and talking about GM and how it got its start but the further I read on it became rel event because they were both getting their start in California at the same time and Carl Kacher's hot dog stand was right across the street. The first chapter also explains how as a young man Carl struggles to support his family. In one of Americas hardest times.
The fast food industry started booming and spreading nationwide between the 1960's and 1973. As we know today the fast food companies are a billion dollar industry that grows every year.
